Brewdog Sheps Bush. Keg. Opaque black - brown beer, small pale tan head. Palate is light and mildly crisp. Mild dark malts, little tang, touch of malt cream. Mellow smoke, very mellow. Mild dark fruits and chocolate before a crispy finish. Nice beer, not sure more than a few splinters of the Discovery were used here though!

Tap at Brewdog, Birmingham. Poured a clear dark brown with a reddish hue and a thin broken white head with a little broken lace. The aroma is roasted malt, light smoke. The flavour is moderate bitter with a smooth dry earty mineral roasted malt, hop bitter palate and a long bitter finish. Medium bodied witn soft carbonation. One wonders what the "special" ingredient is??

Keg at Brewdog Shepard?s bush. Love the name and the story behind this beer. Dark mahogany brown, with a small film of greyish cream head. Aroma is earthy caramel, hint of smoke, tar. Flavour is smooth caramel, quite sweet, hazelnut and low earthy smoke. Nicely balanced and fairly interesting. Palate is medium sticky sweet, lowish carbonation.

Keg at BD Shoreditch - London. Pours black-brown with a thick, creamy khaki head. Nice aroma with rounded roasted malts, suggestions of cocoa. Medium sweet flavor with soft smokey notes, chalky roasted malts, some ash, baking cocoa, burnt earth. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation and creamy texture. Pretty nicely balanced to finish with relaxed smoke/roast and pleasant bittersweet chocolate. Solid all the way through.

Keg at BD CJ. It pours darkest brown with a small beige head. The nose is roasty, mild smoke, earth, treacle and creaminess. The taste is smooth, bitter, roasty, earth, smoke, pepper, citrus rind and charred wood with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Well rounded and rather drinkable. Decent smoked porter.
