One of our favourite childhood video games brought to life in a beer! Zool is packed full of Simcoe and Centennial giving it an aromatic citrus note which is picked up and amplified in the flavour.

Cask gravity at The Just Reproach, Deal. Clear gold white head. Clean tangy hoppy fruity APA. Decent bitterness on the finish. Some sweetness. A little dirty. Bit too sweet for me.

Cask @ The Salopian, Shrewsbury. Particularly hoppy pale, thanks to the SImcoe hops with fruit candy and pine needles coming through, and a biscuity bitter presence too.

Cask at the Lyric, Soho, 24/12/13. Clear golden with a good sized off white head that retains well. Nose is laced with rich tropical fruits, bitter orange, grapefruit, toasted malt, light pine trace, citric enfused straw. Taste comprises orange pith, pineapple shreds, grapefruit, mango, juicy hops. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying closure with grassy hop bitterness. Decent punchy hops and tropical notes for sub 5% - good sessionable APA.

Cask at Bacchus Newcastle. It pours hazy amber with a medium white head. The nose is pine, dough, tangerine, nectarine, Irn Bru and kiwi. The taste is crisp, pine, grapefruit, tangerine, grainy, good deal of bitterness and straw with a crisp bitter finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Crisp, refreshing and rather drinkable. Good stuff.

Keg at the Earl of Essex - London. Pours clear gold, fairly effervescent with a tight, creamy white head. Perfume and flowers in the nose with hints of citrus rind. Light to medium sweet flavor with melon, grapefruit, more citrus rind, some flowers and grass. Light to medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Mello hoppy resins to finish, some dry pale malts, pine needles, melon, orange and grapefruit. Another good, dynamic offering from the What is, in my mind, the best Welsh brewery.
