Bottle split at L6, thanks to Kenny, 25/07/18. Pitch black with a dirty tan head that dissipates to a swirl. Nose is rich roast malts, liquorice, charr, spice, dark fruit rinds, hint of chocolate. Taste comprises roast malts, light barrel tones, toffee, ashen tones, fruit cake, charr, dark chocolate, black peppery spice, herbal notes, just a touch harsh. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with rising alcohol prevalent. Ok impy but offers no wow and for that price point it's a fail !

Bottle shared in London - cheers to Mitch. Pours deep brown with a small foamy tan head. Meaty dark malt aroma, light roast, cocoa. Medium sweet flavour, some ashy roast, more meaty dark malts, raisins. Full bodied, chewy, with fine carbonation. Warming finish, bitter ashy roast, dried berries, leather, scorched earth. Good stuff.

Bottle big thanks to Kenny. It pours darkest brown - black with a small light tan head. The aroma is sweet, sticky, oily, oaky, brandy vanilla, brown bread, toasted nut, fruit cake, oak, liquorice and earth. The taste is slick, sweet, umami, liquorice, chewy, tangy, aniseed, warming alcohol, chewy, toasted sesame, spice and warmth through the finish. Full body, fine carbonation and slick mouth - feel. So much liquorice.

Level 6 Bottleshare. Opaque dark brown beer, small pale tan head. Airy smooth palate, reasonable fine carbonation. Mellow dark malts, touch of dark chocolate. Little woody bitterness. Mild rummy fruits. Modest spice. Light finish. Not bad at all but is it worth the vast outlay? Not for me.

Bottle. pitch dark, smooth brown head. aroma is slightly fruity, sweet dessert fruits and dark dried fruits. roasted malts, and some rum. Flavor is dried dark fruity, raisins, wood, hard roasted malty bitter towards the end. aftertaste is bitter, woody, malty bitter. a lot of fruty notes to begin with, but the end is bone dry woody roasted malty bitter. Tastes like it has spend forever in the barrel.
