Hope I’ve got the right beer – all I could make out on the pumpp clip was the word “Bitter”. Anyway, cask at Moon Under Water, Wolverhampton. Pours a pale straw with a small white head. Not much of an aroma, just vague malts and floral hops. It the mouth it starts off sweet before becoming slightly bitter with floral hops and loads of horrid citrus stickiness. Yuck – not for me this one.

Gravity cask at the Rugby Tap. Light copper, clear with the lightest off-white head and considerable lacing. Metallic smell with lots of sweet malt and some peppery hop. The taste is sublime: lightly bitter and liberally spicy with tangerine peel notes on the finish. Light body and a bit of natural carbonation. Fuck. Bitters don't come any better than this.

19/10/2019. Bottle from Warwick Real Ale. Lively on opening, pours clear golden with a huge foamy white head. Aroma of citrus, grapefruit, hops, malt, caramel and flowers. Medium sweetness and moderate bitterness. Moderate body, slight oily texture, above average carbonation.

Bottle from Bernie’s Off License, Solihull. Poured a clear medium amber with a broken frothy white head. The aroma is grassy hop. The flavour is medium bitter with a grassy, pepper spice hop palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. One of the hoppiest bitters I’ve ever had. It was very tasty and refreshing too.

Darker golden ale with malty undertones. More a true bitter than anything fancy but is only mild in this respect.
