Gravity cask at the Brewery Tap, Norwich. 4.9% ABV. Very, very dark brown. Small bit of beige head on top. Heady malt scent with intense dark chocolate. Nicely balanced taste: the sweetness is balanced by a light but notably bitter hop taste. Heavily roasted malt, salt liquorice and acidic hop in the aftertaste. Not the thickest body, but it’s not overly thin either. Very nice, a prince of a porter.

Cask gravity at Fat Cat, Norwich. This batch is at 4.9% It pours darkest brown with a decent beige head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, milk chocolate, maltesers and earthy roast. The taste is pretty bitter upfront, roasted malt, peppery spice, charred pine, cacao nibs and some underlying dark fruit notes. The finish is lingering and dry. Pretty nice overall.

Gravity cask at Fat Cat - Norwich. Pours somewhat clear brown with a foamy beige head. Toasty brown bread on the nose with accents of cocoa and earth. Light-medium sweet flavor with further toasty brown bread, milk chocolate, dried berries, bitter earth, leather. Medium bodied with fine carbonation; good condition. Nicely balanced on the finish with more chocolatey dark malts, cocoa, mild roast, earth, leathery berries. A tasty and very drinkable porter.

Cask at the Wellington, Birmingham. 4.9%. Poured a clear dark brown with a round bubbly light tan head. The aroma is roasted malt, dry earthy peat, smoke. The flavour is medium to light bitter with a light malt, hop spice liqourice palate. Medium to light bodied with average carbonation. A lovely beer but maybe just a touch too light.

Cask handpull at The Berry Walmer. Dark brown beer lasting cream beige head. Getting towards end of the barrel I feel. Some milk chocolate and roast on the aroma. Some mint in the mouth. Not great
