This is an uncompromising 7.7% Imperial Red Ale loaded high with American Hops.
Think of this as an Imperial India Rd Ale, or a super-charged version of 5am Saint.
Either way this is a seriously good beer!

Backlog February 2017. Clear amber body under a small beige head. Aroma has malt, caramel, dry fruit and alcohol. Taste has sweet malt, some caramel, fruit, apple, grass, vanilla and a bit too much alcohol. Fine body and same aftertaste. Quite nice but the booze made the experience less attractive, rather strange at only 7,7 % ABV actually.

330ml bottle, batch 096, 7.8 % abv, stored in blixboden for quite a while. Shared with Finn. Light brown head with clingy lacing. Unclear dark orange-brown coloured body. Aroma of dark and dried fruits. Mouth filling flavours of sappy dark fruits, apricot, pine, and mid-sweet caramel malts. Dry, bittersweet malt-fruit end. Rounded on the swallow. Fine bodied and tasty (Tromsø 02.02.2017).

Flaske 330ml spandert av Rune. Delt med ham i heimen 2.2.17. Mørk brun. Lavt luftig skum med litt farge. God plommearoma. Myk munnfølelse. Smaken balansert. Karamell & frukt med innslag av krydder.

330 ml bottle, from an archelogical excavation in my beer "cellar". BB date 26-04-14. From Vinmonopolet. ABV is 7.8%. Brown colour, moderate to low off-white head. Aroma of caramel, spices and bakery, also some fruity and piney hops. Moderate carbonation. Hoppy and spicy flavour, medium sweet. Some lightly roasted malts. Interesting beer. .

0.33l bottle. A surprisingly cloudy one again from BrewDog. Have they stopped filtering so of their beers now? Like it. It's deep and nutty brown, almost a bit murky on the last part of the bottle and it has a medium sized quickly fading off-white head. Yeah, it has that BrewDog nose that goes again in oh so many of their beers. I really enjoy and like it though. It's a bit sweetish, malty with a good dash of fresh cold green hops, some cocoa, a little bit of chocolate, some earthy hints and a dash of old pickled lemons. Really bitter! Almost over-bitter. Definitely unbalanced. Strange based on the aroma. It has a oily mouthfeel and a nice average small bubbly carbonation level. I enjoy all the subtle flavor that's hidden behind that kick you in the gut bitter hoppy base. Some sweet biscuits, malts and even a little bit of bitter cocoa powder. Definitely unbalanced, but still somewhat tasty and quite good. 25.09.2013

Bottle at Stuu?s. Pours hazy red amber with no head. Aromas of solvents, orange, toast, liquorice. Taste is burnt orange, today, slightly medicinal. Sweet finish. Odd.

(Bottle) Dark reddish amber colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with caramel, treacle toffee, dried apricots, pink grapefruit, passion-fruit and pine needles. Malty, fruity taste with notes of dried apricots, grapefruit, passion-fruit, caramel, toffee, a touch of liquorice or anise and a generous piney, citric bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty and well made, with a generous hop character and caramel malt to back it up. Nice one.

33 cl bottle @ home. Batch #096, BBE 26.04.2014
Aroma is musty with some baking stuff, some resiny notes and fruits. Also hints of berries. Flavour has lots of resiny notes, some spiciness and odd metallic off-flavour. Feels a bit woody. Harsh.
