Dr.Hardwicke’s Double IPA 8.5%. Brewed with huge amounts of 3 varieties of American Hops, added continuously over a 85 minute boil and then dry hopped in the fermenter and cask. What better way to enjoy soring that with a pint of 8.5% Double IPA :)

Bottle from Bernies. Poured orange amber with a small just off-white head. Aroma of citrus, sweet malt, biscuit, touch of pine and caramel. Moderate sweetness, medium bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation. Not a great IIPA but the best of the dozen or so Sadler's beers I've had so far.

Pure white creamy head stayed well on a hazy, light orange coloured body - Looks appetising! Hoppy aroma with tropical fruits & peach. Medium to full mouthfeel, very smooth on the palate with minimal carbonation. So smooth.... light fruity flavours of peach, apple, tropical fruits, berries, quite sweet & slight hints of malt. Tastes like a Barley Wine.

Bottle from B&M Bargains, Halifax. Golden with a thin head. Very strong tasting with the tropical fruitiness remaining very stated. There’s a lot of fruit to be found in its nose as well.

Noe tåkete lys brun med hvitt skum. Lukter karamell, malt alkohol. Lite humlepreg over denne. Tam i smak. noe bitter avslutning.

Gylden brun klar med lavt hvitt skum. Lukter stenfrukter og karamell. Smaker søtt av karamell med fin bitter avslutning.

Bottle from Ship in a Bottle, West Kirby. Golden looks with a meek white head. Aroma a tad lacking with some muted hop and caramel. Sweet boozy flavour with some tropical fruit notes. Ok but not quite the phat hop hit I was hoping for.

Pours a clear, orangey golden color, topped with a decent just slightly off-white head. A very pleasant malty aroma, mild citruses easily picked up. The taste is bittery, develops a more sweet taste later. Some fruity and biscuity notes towards the end and a bit metallic in the aftertaste. Apart from that, very nice.

Bottle from B&M. Clear gold. Film of white head. Minty toffee. Golden syrup. Taste is sweet. There’s some resin bitterness. Light spice, too. Palate is oily. Soft carbonation. Finish is long, slightly boozy, piny bitterness. Factor in the price, and this is pretty good.

Cask handpump at The King Charles II, Worcester, Saturday 4th January 2014. Warm gold, clear as a bell with a slim white head atop. Strength is apparent, sweet side of bittersweet, really warming, this is big, big beer. Hoppy and malty but I think the sweetness is a little too much. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4
