Dr.Hardwicke’s Double IPA 8.5%. Brewed with huge amounts of 3 varieties of American Hops, added continuously over a 85 minute boil and then dry hopped in the fermenter and cask. What better way to enjoy soring that with a pint of 8.5% Double IPA :)

Cask at The Windsor Castle Inn during the RateBeer Black Country Bus Bash. Pours clear, bright gold with a creamy white head. The nose holds ripe citrus and booze-soaked oranges. Big sweet flavor with moderately dank citrus, orange especially, alcohol. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish with still more ripe citrus, mild resins, booze. It’s heavy stuff but I suppose a decent effort for a cask DIPA.

bottle from Darts Farm. Hazy golkden colour, mid-suezd off-whitebhead. Malty base, lovely hops in masses, resiny-hrassy-citrusy character. Very nice!

Hand-pulled half-pint in the Brewery Tap (The Windsor Castle) on 6th July 2013 during the Black Country Bus trip. Light amber/golden body: on top a rocky white crown that stayed the distance. Spicy hop nose with some sweeter malt notes arriving as the beer warmed in the glass. The taste was also hop first with a semi-sweet biscuity malt feel before the a hop bitterness with citrus hints closed the deal. Didn’t notice the alcohol strength in the flavours at all: a fine beer.

Black Country Beano. Cask at the Windsor Castle. A DIPA on cask. Cracking! Clear deep gold beer, little white head. Softish palate with fine carbonation. Floral sweetness leads to rich tangerine and orange peel. Light pine and hop spice. Finishes light and dry and leaves a lingering hops spice aftertaste. A fine beer, best on tap all day.

Cask at the Windsor Castle, Lye on the RB BCBB - 06/07/13. Clear golden with a good sized white head. Nose is orange, caramel malt, light tropical fruit notes, sweet. Taste comprises hops, bitter grapefruit, orange pith, mineral notes, caramelised sugars. Medium bodied with bite, soft carbonation, smooth and pleasing to the palate. Decent effort at a DIPA on cask!

Draft at The Windsor Castle. Poured a crystal clear amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is crisp citrus fruit leading to a rich medium to strong bitter flavour with some liqourice malt bitterness on the palate. A classic DIPA.
