Cask @ Fox & Goose, Hebden Bridge. Clear golden with a thin creamy head. Has a milky malt-hop character with a small floral nose and soapy aftertaste.

Cask at the Wellington, Birmingham during Black Country Bus Tour. Pours clear gold with a light, creamy cap. Some toasty dough in the snout, faint leaves. Light sweetness in the flavor, dry toast, dough, a few grains kicking about. Light bodied with fine carbonation. A little bland on the finish, just more toasty bread and mild leafy bitterness, but it’s not offensive. OK.

Cask at the wellington brum on the black country beer bus bash. Golden colour with a dodgy looking hite head. Nutty malt. Disappointing sorachi ace hop character. It’s one of my favourite hops, but this was a bit of a let down. Boring.

Hand-pulled half-pint in The Crown Inn, Oakengates 1 Aug 2013. Japanese hops I believe? Anyway the beer came with a slight haze to its golden looks, a thin white head sat on top. Not a lot going on really: I had to search for any aroma or taste. I struggled but came up with words like; fruity, hoppy, floral, perfumed and a dry finish, I’m a kind bloke! Weak in flavour and body depth: only 3.2% ABV of course, but too delicate for my palate.

Black Country Beano. Cask at the Wellington. Almost clear pale gold beer. Tiny white head. Light and shallow malt. Zero Sorachi Ace. Light dry finish. Nothing going on here. Bland and lame.

Cask at the Wellington, Birmingham at the end of the legendary RBBCBB 06/07/13. Clear golden with a thin white head. Nose is toasted malts, hops, grass, fruit. Taste comprises orange marmalade, light pine, sigar, bitter hops. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, crisp finish with a coating of hop bitterness. Decent GB affair.

Cask at The Wellington. Poured a crystal clear, medium amber with a gass hugging round white head. The aroma is grass and nettle. The flavour is weak bitter, grass, nettle, toffee and caramel on the very smooth palate. A superb and very different ale. I should drink this more often!
