Amber colour, small off-white head. Smoky and oaked tones go well together with sweet malts. Flavour is smoked, nicely sweet malty, oaked, and some herbal.

440ml can. Slightly cloudy, orange, dark golden to amber colour with average, frothy, slowly osteoporosing, minimally lacing, white head. Smoky, woody and caramel malty aroma, notes of smoked wood, toasted oak, a touch of smoked eel, smoked ham, pure oak wood with a minimally tannic touch, vanilla overtones. Taste is slightly tannic, woody and smoky malty, slightly caramel malty with some residual sweetness, hints of smoked wood, smoked ham, smoked eel, toasted oak, some pure oak wood, oak chips, a minimally diluted touch of caramel, some vanilla, peaty and leathery overtones once in a while.
Oily texture, smooth and soft, slightly greasy palate, medium to fine, minimally scattered, soft, creamy carbonation.
Definitely an improved version compared to "Boo Blooms", really great at some moments (initially after sipping), but eventually falls back on a mediocre level (while meditating about intensity and harmony and comparison to Schlenkerla brews); oak aging is an improvement, needs more caramel malty and "barbecue" aspects on the other side to compensate for a lack of body and a better integration of the tannic counterpart - pretty nice nevertheless.

Weicher rauchiger Beginn. Milde Süße, herb, trockenes helles Malz. Holzig, die Süße passt gut, die Rauchigkeit könnte ein wenig stärker sein. Mittellanger Abgang. 10/11/12/10/9/10

0.44 l can from 'Craftbeershop.com', best before April 2026. Almost clear, deep amber with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, quite smoky aroma of caramel, toasted nuts, smoked ham and traces of vanilla. Quite sweet, malty, moderately bitter, gently smoky taste of caramel, toasted nuts, smoked ham, light vanilla and hints of sultanas, followed by a short, moderately bitter, a little woody-dry finish. Medium body, smooth and gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Pleasant Rauchbier, a little more harmonious than the base beer.

Can picked up from Bierkiste, München and consumed at home in the company of Jonas and Ursula after a lovely hike in the hills behind Deggendorf Saturday 17th May 2025. Pours light amber, excellent clarity,, slim white filmy head. A touch sweet, smokiness is very subtle but works well, oak ageing also works nicely, soft mouthfeel, a little light caramel touch, lacking a little bit of carbonation but otherwise nice.

Can, thanks Fin! Clear darker amber, white head. Metallic smoke roast nose. Medium body, light sparkly, juicy grain, mellow smoke, caramelized, light vanilla, fine bitterness, grass and pine notes. Pleasant.

Can, thanks Fin. Chestnut amber, slightly cloudy. Malty wood, ash. Oily, honey, wood, melanoidin, pine. Flat, boozy, warm. Does not taste like 5.something, more like Weizenbock.
