12oz bottle. Deep brown, stained glass red color, looks filtered. Soapy beige head. Mellow toffee-caramel aroma. Medium bodied, quite sessionable. Mild caramel, chocolate, brown malt flavors, a hint of nuttiness. Simple and straightforward, a little balancing hops add some bitterness in the finish. A touch of fruity yeast action as well. OK.

Charred oak nose with very light hints of walnut and brown sugar. Cola brown, thick tan head, minimal lacing. A surge of cherry and vanilla at midpalate. Finishes with dry charred oak. Mouthfeel is thin. alcohol hidden. Rather dunkel-ish. Good transitions and balance, low intensity for a winter warmer.

Refrigerated bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a dark clear amber with small cream head. Aroma is good caramel, very little lacing, and low carbonation. Taste is roasted rich malt, caramel, nutty, and a hint of toffee.

Bottle: Poured a deep brown color ale with a large off-white foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma of caramelized malt with very light toffee notes. Taste is also a nice mix of caramelized malt with light warming notes of toffee. Body is quite full with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Well brewed with great drinkability factor. I don,t know if I enjoyed this one more because I spend a couple hours at the ring before but it is quite tasty.

Bottle from Oak Tree. Pours deeply dark and ruddy with a fizzy/creamy beige/tan head. The aroma is chocolate. Med to full body. The flavor is chocolate with a little nutty roasted malt. It’s not dry, it’s slightly bitter. It’s a very nice drink.

12 oz bottle. Poured a ruby copper color with a small white head, a bit thinner than expected, but not a problem. Aroma was caramel, toasted notes, touch of hops. Flavor was about the same. I found this incredibly drinkable, and a great sessionable beverage, that alone give high marks on my end since so many of these types of beers (even ones from these guys) are simply in it to get the ABV as high as possible.

Deep brown with a tan head. Malts, caramel, light earth, and chocolate in the aroma. Full bodied. Fairly sweet, malty, chocolate, and a bit of dark fruits round out this beer. Not bad, not great.

Flavor: Highly malty flavor made up of fruits, nuts, and some earth
Palate: Medium bodied beer was an OK mouthfeel, drinkable
Overall Impression: I decided I needed a selection show beer, and so here we are. This is an alright beer, a somewhat one dimensional malty beer, with a decent, though not particularly exciting, flavor. It wasn't my favorite by any stretch, but this is a drinkable brew.

Tap at Sunswick. Pretty good. Strikes a nice balance between roasty malt sweetness and bittering hops. Malt characteristics definitely predominate. Average appearance. Decent mouthfeel and tasty finish.

Bottle from Secret Santa, thanks! Deep dark brown color. Toffee in the aroma. Malty sweet flavor with caramel and just a touch of butter. A solid beer without any special virtues, but well brewed. The beer is tasty and certainly has quality.
