Might Arrow Pale Ale provides lots of pleasurable sniffs from Amarillo and Cascade hops with a fetching honey malt base. This is our brewed tribute to Arrow, Kim’s Aussie/Border Collie mix who ran (literally) New Belgium for 12 years. When she wasn’t patrolling the brewery grounds, she was famous for her office visits: She never met a tummy rub she didn’t like. Atta girl Arrow.

Bottle. Pours a nice clear golden color with a foamy white head. Aromas of fresh herbal hops dominate; but not overly so. Well carbonated but somewhat thin overall. Another pretty easy to drink APA

@Kellys ABQ NM-on tap-pours a rich off white head and gold color. Aroma is herbal lemon merange/spice, some light malt. Taste is herbal lemon merange/spice, some light malt with some sweetness. Semi drying finish.

12oz bottle from Callahan’s Pub. Poured into a Shaker. Large amount of frothy white head that lasts and lasts leaving excellent lacing. Color is light orange. Aroma is a light amount of malt. Toffee and honey. With a light amount of flowery hops. Light bodied with an oily texture, it has lively carbonation and almost no finish. Palate is lightly sweet and lightly bitter. Overall, it wasn’t too bad. Nothing I would seek out but maybe something I would buy on a discount rack at my local bottle shop.

Tap. Pours golden with a white head. Aroma of floral hops, lemon, grapefruit. Taste is fresh floral hops, apples, grapefruit, lemon over a malt base. Thin to medium body, soft carbonation. Nice pale ale. 010311

Mighty Arrow is a gentle pale ale. The Amarilllo and Cascade hops don’t assert themselves too much, offering a mild piney bitterness that couples well with the "honey malt base." Still, this beer suffers from a lack of imagination; it comes off as a Cliff’s Notes version of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Of course, I do seem to be opening a second bottle, so I can’t be too harsh on this brew. If only it had any recognizable nose whatsoever. Were I wanting to sound like a proud beer reviewer, I would say, "Mighty Arrow is well-made but off-target." Fortunately, I’m not clever enough to think up such things.

Bottled. An amber beer with an orangey head. The aroma has notes of hops, grass, and flowers. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and hops lending it notes of grass and flowers.

On tap at WBF-Raleigh on 04/24/2010. Clear golden body with a small creamy off-white head. Big citrus and resiny hop aroma. Dry resiny hop flavor. Medium body with moderate carbonation.

Bottle. Clear, golden body. Frothy, white head, mostly diminishing. Light aroma of toasted grain, orange, citrus and grapefruit. The flavor is lightly bitter and moderately sweet. It finishes lightly sweet, lightly to moderately bitter and lightly acidic. Medium body, thick texture, average carbonation. Lingering bitternes, but not overly strong. A bit husky/grainy and unclean — like putting a handful of dry grain in your mouth. Seems to have the same grainy aftertaste as Fat Tire does — basically a Fat Tire with more hops.

12 oz bottle. Pours a dark golden with a white head. Floral and citrus hops come through in the aroma along with some biscuity malts. Flavor is light, with biscuit being the primary component backed up by some floral hops and bits of grapefruit. Rather unexciting.

Clear golden coloured body with some orange tints, a thick lightly off-white coloured head and a bunch of large bubbles floating up from the sides & bottom - doesn’t look good with those bubbles. Aroma of some good fresh cascade hops, a touch of caramel, apricots and a little bit of alcohol. Light-bodied; Somewhat acidic taste at first, then showing a light hoppiness, some resin and then a touch of caramel. Aftertaste is rather mild and simplistic - just a lingering bitterness and some light hops. Overall, a pretty understated and less refined APA, perhaps not showing enough complexity and too much of a bitter taste without a full complement of a malt backbone. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Colorado Liquor Mart in Denver, Colorado on 14-February-2010, sampled at home in Washington on 18-March-2010.
