Light haze on this paleish gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light and dry and crispy. Typical Kernel lemony saison tartness. Not acid but sharpish. Nelson? Maybe a touch but as with other Kernel saisons, the hops feel like a secondary consideration. Modest Nelson grape, really modest. I’m just a bit fond of Kernel and Kernel are not shy with hopping their beers. But the saisions could do with more hops!

Bottle. RAD Beer. Hazed, pale gold. Fine white head. Nose has bright, white grape. Clean oak. Lemon rind. Lemon brett. Hint of peppery spice. Taste is tart, and pretty dry, with a hop leaf spice. Clean and crisp mouthfeel. Light body. Fine carbonation. Lingering white grape tartness to finish. Really nice.

Keg at the Canalhouse, Nottingham. Golden and slightly hazy with a small amount of white head. Aroma comtains light funk, gooseberry amd citrus notes, lemongrass. Tastes much more intense with an initial explosion of tart berry, with a touch of drying yeast in the finish. Nice.

ABV: 5.1%. Clear medium yellow colour with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, wheat, pale malt, moderate hoppy, fruity hos, moderate yeasty, fruity yeast, leather, grapes. Flavor is moderate sweet light acidic and bitter with a long duration, tart, funky, leather, citrus - grapes, fruity hops. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20190831]

On keg at the Hanging Bat. Appearance - orange to amber. Neat lacing. Nose - this is very sour for a saison. Lanolin and funky. Not much fruit. No sign of the Sauvin. Taste - same again. Palate rupturing sourness. Palate - very sour indeed. Overall - the keg was checked and this was the correct one so no mistake at the Hanging Bat. Did the brewer mislabel it? This is a proper sour NOT A SAISON.

Tap @ Mikkeller, Odense. Pours cloudy golden with a small white head. Funky and dry. Vinous. Good white wine and fresh hops. Blue-berry like notes and funk. Dry finish..
