Keg at Mother Arch ii, 30/06/23. Clear deep golden with little in the way of a head. Nose is tarte citric flesh, funk, buggy, wood must, damp cloth, lemon rind, dungy notes. Taste comprises lemon zest, hay bale, barnyard, modest funk, vinous, damp oak, hint of stoned fruits, balanced acidic kiss. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a subtle Nelson suggestion. Solid.

Bottle at home in London - sourced from the brewery. Pours clear gold with a creamy, white head. Delicious beer, lovely mellow acidity, modest funk, definitely some tropical fruits coming through in the front end, a bit of pissy hop, lemon, papaya, mellow bitterness. Light bodied with delicate, massaging carbonation. Tart and quenching on the finish, more lemon, salt, sturdy acidity. Excellent.

Light haze on this paleish gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light and dry and crispy. Typical Kernel lemony saison tartness. Not acid but sharpish. Nelson? Maybe a touch but as with other Kernel saisons, the hops feel like a secondary consideration. Modest Nelson grape, really modest. I’m just a bit fond of Kernel and Kernel are not shy with hopping their beers. But the saisions could do with more hops!
