Bottle shared in London - many thanks to Dan boy. Pours totally clear gold with a creamy, off-white head. Muted aroma, some pale bread, maybe a little white grape and citrus. Light sweet flavour with restrained dry garlic, crusty pale bread, light plastic. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Drying finish, a little woody, with some citrus rind, more bread crust. Neither here nor there, really. So so.

Bottle thanks to Dan. It pours clear amber with a medium off- white head. The aroma is earthy, musty, green, grassy, herbal, big garlic character and mild sweetness. The taste is sot, sweet, big garlic character, garlic butter, grassy, straw, toasted grain, cereal and cracker with a dry, garlicky finish. Medium body and average carbonation. Actually I like this, also I love garlic.

Bottle at home, 27/06/16. Bought at a farm shop somewhere in Surrey by my wife. There may well be some garlic coming through in the aroma but it’s actually very sweet smelling. Dark amber. Poor head, just hugging the glass. As others have mentioned, the garlic is not obvious. Light bodied beer, with a sweetness to it. A bit of a bitter sensation on the tonge from the garlic, which comes through more in the aftertaste. Not quite sweet and sour but verging on that Different but not a particularly good beer.

500ml bottle @ the Fourth Shrewsbury Bottle Share April 2014, courtesy of Luc. Sounds wrong, looks wrong, tastes wrong. This is basically liquid garlic bread. As soon as the pouring began the aroma was quite overpowering. I like garlic as much as the next man, but this is too much. Good for a novelty but that’s it.

500ml bottle bought by Luc to the fourth Shrewsbury bottle swap on 28th April 2014: my beer of the night. There was even a garlic bulb in the bottle, as if you couldn’t tell it was a garlic flavoured beer! Mid-brown with no real head to mention, it smells and tastes of garlic: I like garlic. Not sure I could have had a whole bottle without some sort of food (chips would have been fine), but my large pour enabled me to know it does what it says on the label: it’s a garlic beer.

Bottled @ tasting cgarvieuk. Bottle includes peeled garlic clove. Hazy orange colour, white head. Repulsive in-your-face aroma of very strong old, cooked garlic. Hesitant first sip tastes like sweet malts and fruits, some caramel. Bit of garlic that disappears fast. Credits for the novelty factor, but the smell is awful.
