Solid pale ale, good mix of pine, citrus, and caramel, nothing out-of-the-ordinary but enjoyable all the same. Good mango-malt nose, some mango-orange hops to mix with the earthy, sweet malts, and the texture’s nice and silky. Highly drinkable, if not altogether memorable.

Peach-centric with an unexpected vanilla sweetness on top of a fairly nondescript wheat ale. Yeasty with the slightest bit of tart fruit, and the finish turns into fizzy bland nothingness. Not terrible, but not memorable either. We’ll settle for skippable.

Bottle courtesy of Asbjørn, my first SC rating. Pours cloudy golden orange with a lasting off-white head. Aroma of peach and wheat. Medium sweetness, light bitterness and touch of sour. Medium body, slight oily texture, average carbonation.

Brown sugar nose, subtle clove hints. Cola black, huge tan head. Char and prune. Medium body, harsh. Fruity esters and spicy phenols, rather like a sessionable Belgian quad or dubbel. Much better warm and thoroughly agitated.

Draft sample at Oktoberfest at The Shore Club in Tega Cay SC. Nobody understood my 1960s TV references about this beer, so after a while I just gave up and drank it. Caramel aroma, malty taste. Cheers Ray Walston and Bill Bixby.

Walnut and tobacco, charred oak aroma. Black, thin head. Leather, tobacco, molasses, charred oak and walnut. Medium to full body, easy carbonation. A really good stout from a brewery I don’t usually like very much.
