Description
We opened in 2014 under the name Coda Brewing Company, but decided in early 2016 to make some changes. While change is always a trying and difficult experience, we believe what we are doing now is better than ever… and we’re sticking with Ursula this time. While you’ll still see some of the great award winning American Ales from our Coda days, as Ursula we’re developing a more diverse range of beer including Belgian, German, and historical beers, and doing our hardest work trying to get that beer into the hands of our customers.

Sample at ACBF. Pours black, with a persistent, tan ring. The aroma is burnt marshmallows, cocoa, toast, walnuts, and chalk. Sweet and malty, with a hard bitterness. Heavy body, with an acrid, syrupy, and thick mouthfeel. This is a fun and solid porter.

Can shared at Andrew's b-day bash. Pours a deep brown to black with a finger of beige head. Deep fudge brownie aromas with chocolate malt and light coffee. Peanut butter aromas peak out as it warms. Smooth and creamy, very rich and decadent on the palate but not overly sweet. Some dry peanut butter and fudge brownie that runs toward the finish. Lingering chocolate notes. Really well done.

Taste from a shared bottle. Pours a dull, murky, orange color, with a small, beige head. The aroma is pine sap, corn syrup, awful coffee, and rye. Sweet and malty, with an acrid bitterness. Medium body, with a hard and sticky palate. Pretty poor.

Can thanks to Mike! Pours hazy golden yellow, small white head, dissipates fairly quickly, decent lacing. Aroma is passionfruit indeed. Flavor is light sweet, minimal bitterness, lots of passionfruit, but its still well integrated. Medium body. Good enough.
