On tap @ the brewpub. Hazy brownish body with a small off-white head. Aroma has malt, dry fruit and candy sugar. Flavor is sweet malty, some toast, dry fruit, moderate bitterness, spicy and Belgium yeast. Fine body and a long and slightly warm aftertaste. A good and rustic version of a Belgium dubbel. Pleasant.

On tap @ Amundsen. Pours black, with a big beige head. Very nice hoppy aroma with tropical fruits, peach and orange peel, as well as burned wood and some coffee. Medium body with creamy texture. Flavour is sweet with burned malts, caramel and coffee, as well as notes of chocolate, liquorice and some hoppy bitterness of orange peel. Finishes off with a grapefruity bitterness. Nice brew.

On tap at the brewpub, 250ml. Unclear amber, low off-white head leaving dotted spots to the glassware. Dried fruity smell. Sweet apricot mixed with biscuit malts offset by a heavy, dry bitter ending added by warming alcohol. Good, a bit heavy to drink (Oslo, 22.02.2013).

On tap at Grünerløkka brygghus. Black with a beige head. Roasted and lightly smoky aroma with spices, dark chocolate and hops. Medium sweet with a fairly dry and bitter finish. Well balanced. Smoke well integrated and almost in the background. Some notes of dark fruits also. Nice beer for a dark and cold winter evening in Oslo.

Small offwhite head. Hazy deep red body. Fruity spicy wild berry aroma with cardamom and clove notes. Dry-sweet earthy cardamom and wild berries taste with herbal nutty notes. Mid-bodied. Faintly sharpish mouthfeel. Dry spicy cardamom and licorice aftertaste with dried fruit and clove notes. Really nice. Well balanced, vivid, and interesting without becoming perfumy or artificial. 250ml tap at Grünerløkka Brygghus, bar at Mathallen Oslo. Fawn-coloured head leaving great lacing rings down the glass. Jet black body with a deep ruby tint. Smoked aroma with spices. Interesting spiced taste of cumin and lighter notes of pepper on a backbone of smoky malts and anise. Bitter dried fruity ending. Medium bodied. Unusual and likable (Oslo, 11.12.2012).

250ml, tap at the brewpub. Dark as pitch, brownish rings to the rim of the surface. Good lacework. Dark chocolate malts joined by anise to the nose. Balanced taste of dark chocolate malts and tart berries supported by subdued dark spicy notes. Tart and sweet to the ending. Well made, tasty brew (Oslo, 10.12.2012).

Big brown head. Opaque black body. Roasty caramel pudding aroma with toffee and vanilla notes as well as traces of soy sauce. Fairly vivid and clear. Dry-sweet spicy cinnamon and vanilla taste with roasty chocolatey notes. Mid-bodied. Hot, sharp mouthfeel, probably from spice. Dryish spicy peppery cinnamon aftertaste with burnt chocolatey earthy notes. Quite nice, but perhaps a bit on the hot side. (0.25l draft at brewpub.)

Tap at Oslo ølfestival. Dark brown with a light beige head. Marlty aroma with roasty notes, caramel and dark fruits. Quite sweet and fruity with some roasty notes and a pleasant bitterness in the finish. Good drinkabilty and quite nice. (2012-10-06)
