10th October 2008. GABF. Again surprised to find myself adding another US beer but it is in the GABF 08 brochure! Unfortunately a dissapointment from this brewer compared to the other beers they were offering. The stout is way to dry and the malt is over toasted. Hard work.

10th October 2008. GABF. Clear brown beer. Sour fruit with a real zing that doesn’t quite produce a pucker. Dry sweet spicy finish. Nutty as well. Unlike anything else had at the festival.

Draft at the brewpub. Unfiltered amber-brown color. Medium to full bodied, very nice balance. Amber malt, medium-dark specialty malts, and a solid hop bill all round out quite well. Smooth caramel finish. Good stuff.

Unfiltered amber-brown color. Smooth malty aroma. Thick, sweet Bock-like flavor. A touch of smoke. Relatively clean for the style, not overly sweet or sticky. Excellent.

Draft at the brewpub. Opaque black color. Roasty sweet chocolate aroma. Sweet with a pleasant bitter balance. Smooth chocolate tones. Light lactic touches.

Hazy tan color. Pleasant fruity aroma. Big, sweet body. Lots of honey and fruit nuances. Strong but not overbearing. Some mead-like qualities. Quite nice.

Draft at the brewpub. This was a pretty cool beer, very rich. Intensely strong with a very authentic Belgian taste. Raisins and dark fruit notes. Deep amber-brown color. Rugged, a great beer.

Medium bodied and fruity. A hybrid of IPA and APA tastes. Clean and easy drinking with a nice astringency. Reminds me a lot of West Coast beers in its hops.

Draft at the brewpub. Honestly, this one was a let down. Amber-brown color. Good beer in some ways, but tastes closer to a raisiny barleywine than a IIPA. The malt dominates, very sweet, thick, and sticky. Too light on the hops for the style.
