Cloudy gilden color, small white head. Aroma of sweet orange bubblegum. Taste is sweet and sour orange peel. Creative. Earlier Rating: 12/6/2011 Total Score: 2Draft at the brewpub in Wilmington. Murky orange yellow color, thin white head. Aroma of orange juice and heavy spice. Taste is similar, with blatant alcohol. I normally like this style, but this one doesnt do it for me.

Light haze on this dark red - brown beer. No real head. Slightly booze laden fruit nose with a little marmite. Semi dry palate. Low carbonation. Red berry fruits, strawberry jam and a trace of cherry. Licorice spice. Mild marmite streak. Dry finish. Some nice flavours here but they don’t join up that well, too disparate.

At the lancaster pub. First off, taste is much less refined than a real dubbel from the old country. More like an an american wannah be which I guess it is. Does have some manners but it does not hide its alky personality well. TRather strong overall impressions. Quite dark brown in looks. Has a volatile perfumay aroma. Some co2. Yes, need more manners. Needs to go to the old country to learn more about waha dubbel is all about.

On tap at the lancaster pub. Clear orange in colot. Slightly fruity on the onset, enjotable effect. Yes, a tad bitter but has all the good mild mannered attributes of a well behaved english bitter. Not bad overall. that fruityness really adds a friendly aspect to this brew. Nearly flat on the palate. Medium lenght bitter finish. Its anem makes you think it would be harder hitting than it really is. Not as dark as pictured here.
