Yoitsugi IPA 8% Ise kadoya a matte copper with an aroma of pine bark. Light bodied and possibly undercarbonated. The taste is woodsy pine - bitter but with a sugary sweetness. Meh.

Bottle from Tanakaya. Pours a deep orange with a half finger of head that dissipates fairly quickly. Citrusy nose with lots of biscuity malts, dekopon and yuzu. Sweet on the palate with a bold dekopon flavor. Yuzu comes out more on the finish. Average carbonation with a medium to heavy body. Feels kind of boozy as it warms. Tap at MArciero. Amber-orange color, clear, low head. Big citrus nose (they have added yuzu), with some caramel and bready malts. Sweet, strong, citrusy flavor. Some caramel. Not so much lager character, mostly yuzu. Not bad.

Tap at CBM Koenji. Huge, punchy grapefruit, orange and pineapple on the nose. Biscuity malts with juicy hop flavor. Well-balanced, but good bitterness on the palate. Slightly sweet, but not cloying. Tap at Hathor. Orange amber, cloudy, with a thick, fine head. Citrus fruit and biscuit malt nose, pineapple, honey. Very biscuity, bready, peaches, oranges. Nice malt character with good balance.

Banana, clove and light caramel notes. Some banana bread with raisin comes out as it warms. Body is a little too thin and boozy. Lingering pepper and spiced finish, but not overpowering. Sweet, but not cloying.

Light grass hop nose with some fruity yeast esters: peach and apricot. Some caramel on the palate. Balanced, but more malt in the mouth. Bottle. Clear golden color, white head. Aroma has light ginger and subtle black pepper. Taste is lightly herbal straw. Plain.
