Growler fill from brewery, brewed for Boise Weekly anniversary party. Nice big lager, everything you like and more. Clear golden with lively carbonation. Aroma is pure grain, without any of the funky/musty/dusty smell sometimes present in the macro AALs. Taste follows with a nice crisp hops bite, finishes with lingering bitterness and an oily, slick mouthfeel. Not your father?s lager, but maybe your grandfather?s.

Draft at Boise Brewing. Some highs and lows on this. Dull, flat pour, welcoming whiskey aroma, even moreso in the taste. But then it kind of falls off after that. Really nice flavor, but itβs a one trick pony.

Draft @ Growler Guys. Dark brown in color, a nice thick finger of creamy tan head. Good lacing throughout. Aroma is piney and citrus hops, some roast. For a CDA, the flavor is mild on the bitter side. The citrus and piney hops are there, but not overly aggressive. Roasted malt and a light sweetness balances fairly well. All of the flavors work together well, but it left me wanting something a little more potent.

On Tap at the Boise Brewery light orange amber with a full sandy head. Lots of fresh up front pine and citrus hop flavors and aromas. Great pale ale with very good hoppiness that you often have to go to an IPA to get. Maybe my favorite of theirs.

On Tap at the Boise Brewery Classic clear golden with a thin coarse white head and spotty lacing. Standard PL aroma but with more hops and a rather firm bitterness for the style. Clean and well attenuated. The hop profile moves ths from a mellow lager and more into a sharp zinger of a beer.

Grunt fill from taproom. Wow! This APA knocked me out. Flavorful, slick body, goes down easy. Nice looking to boot. Medium amber with soft, creamy head. Mild hoppy aroma gives way to caramel malts andd some gentle piney hops. Wish this was a regular part of their lineup.

Growler fill from taproom. Rough pour yields a huge airy beige head floating on top of an inky black body. Aroma features the nice roast grain notes and warns of the hoppiness to come. Taste follows with a nice bite, combining the roast malts and hops for some sharp bitterness. While it looks thick and chewy, the body is actually pretty light weight. Well done CDA.
