Description

Bottle. An unclear amber colored beer topped by a small, off-white head. The aroma is spiced and lightly soapy, with fruitsugar and candy in the back. Some lemon notes and caramel malts. It’s medium to full-bodied, semi-dry and with a pleasant carbonation level. Soapy, spiced flavor with caramel malts and candy. Long spiced finish. Not very good this one. Spiced beers can be nice, but this isn’t hitting the target. 151231

500 ml bottle. Slightly unclear golden with a medium sized white head. Fruity aroma with a mild hint of acidic fruit. Flavor is medium sweet pale malt, citric fruit and some infection caused acidity. Moderate bitterness. Medium body and average aftertaste. Definitively something going wrong here, still not all bad and this beer still have some qualities as a refreshing beer. Not often I finish an infected beer, but no problem with this bottle. Looking forward to a fresh bottle.

50cl bottle at the Brewpub. Pours slightly hazy amber with a decent, lasting, off-white head. Malty aroma with notes of caramel and dark fruits. Surprisingly clean and quite pleasant. Moderate to medium sweet with malty and caramelly flavours and a mild bitterness. One of the cleanest and best I’ve tried from Larvik mikrobryggeri.

Shared bottle at Mi2 at Cardinal 07.12.15. Almost ebony. Small pale brown head. Uninviting aroma of lambic, brett, black malt, sour brett and rotting berries. Similarly sour taste. Infected and undrinkable.

On tap at the brewpub. 7.2%. A reddish brown beer with a small dense beige head. Some curtains. Dried fruits, ginger, cardamom, caramel and something perfumed in the aroma. The flavor is pretty much the same, with an added herbal bitterness. Full to medium body and a very soft carbonation. Long finish. Drinkable, obviously made with good intentions, but not very successful. 151204

On tap at the brewpub. A murky orange amber beer with a small, dense off-white head. The aroma is yeasty, toffee-ish and lightly fruity with a faint bread note. It’s medium to full bodied and pleasantly carbonated, semi dry and with a nice bitterness. Bread, yeast and fruityness in the flavor, the fruits and bread lasting for a good while. Nothing special going on here. And it’s too yeasty. 151204
