Description
Williams Bros Brewing Company is a Scottish family-owned microbrewery, founded and operated by brothers Bruce and Scot Williams.

The Williams Bros. Brewing Co. started life in the humble ‘Glenbrew’ homebrew shop in Glasgow. The first beer brewed was the ‘Fraoch’ Heather Ale at a small 5-barrel brewery in Taynuilt, After the 2nd year of brewing in the Taynuilt brewery and with demand far out stripping supply the brothers decided to expand and also to diversify the range with five Historic Ales. These ales were produced at the new purpose built brewery and premises in Craigmill, Strathaven from 1998-2004.

In 2004 the brothers took over the ‘Forth Brewery’ at Kellibank, Alloa where Maclay’s had been contract brewing and packaging their beers since the sale of their old Alloa brewery. It was at this stage in proceedings that Heather Ale Ltd became Williams Bros. Brewing Co.

Ayrshire Coastal Walking Mini Break Beer#6. Last in a Paisley diversion on a travel day. Local can in a new Spoon for me. Hazy golden, very sweet tropical fruit in both aroma and taste, offset a little by a good juiciness in texture. Hard not to like this. Hints of pine, especially in aroma.

opalescent dark golden colour, one inch of dense beige-ish ecru head; aroma of (dried) fruity (mainly apricot and pear), lemongrassy, grassy, some marmalade and candied pomelo peel notes; taste has basically the same notes as can be felt in the aroma; is it really a tripel?...

Loose white head on a chill hazed golden coloured body
Malt, resinous aroma.
Medium bodied, smooth with a lightly carbonated cloying back.
Orange, resinous, pine, metallic & stone fruit tastes with a bitterly hopped finish.
Great for the style.

From amstein, best before 05/25, drinking it, two days ago, at Epalinges. Tasty and aromatic pale ale, on the American way, note of dry malt, mineral, rather light with a good bouquet of hop, citrus and bitter, a bit resinous and tropical, good one.

Cans. Deep golden body with a light haze and an off-white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of tinned orange and pine resin. Flavour of grapefruit, pine and mandarin. Medium body with a slick, oily mouthfeel. Light fizz. It’s very tangy, slightly distractingly so. A decent DIPA.

Aldi Exclusive Cans Night At Home Beers #2 of 3. Golden in colour, traditional within its style, although not too 'old skool' compared to what wasn't being made at the turn of the century. Hoppy-sweet in design, not quite feeling its strength but a decent enough body.

Aldi Exclusive Cans Night At Home Beers #1 of 3. Pretty good start, this is a tropical fruity brew in both aroma and taste, which doesn't feel its strength, nor so in its texture as it slips down the palate like a session brew. Lower-end citric bitterness and a hint of pine.

From amstein, best before 09/25, opening this can, two days after a visit at the Christmas market, Lausanne. Regular neipa, syrupy and malty, oat, fruity, touch of tropical fruit, citrus and bitter, a bit sweet, light-medium body, good.

440ml can from Aldi. Misted gold with white head, moderate retention. Aroma of peach, orange, lychee with a hint of green herbs and pine. Taste has some of that stone fruit and tropical fruitiness but with more of a 'green' herbal and pine bitter finish. Medium bodied. Another good value offering from William Bros.
