The Brooklyn Brewery started with a dream to return brewing to Brooklyn, once a powerhouse of American beer production. Today our beers travel to more than half the United States and over thirty countries. Our James Beard Award-winning Brewmaster Garrett Oliver and his team brew everything from classic styles to bold experiments and collaborate with brewers, innovators and artists from around the globe. We’ve met wonderful people in remarkable places, and we can’t wait to show everyone what’s next.

In 2016, Brooklyn Brewery sold 24.5 percent to Kirin, Japan’s second-biggest brewer. The partnership allowed Brooklyn Brewery to use Kirin’s distribution arm to sell in Japan and Brazil.

I look forward to the release of this one each year . This is my favorite of the yearly production beers from Brooklyn. +++ Sampled from a 12 oz bottle this beer poured a nice mahogany color with a small tan head. The aroma was malt, molasses and a nice hop presence. The flavor was caramel, malt, and some hops - particularly on the finish. A nice barleywine that is strong, flavorful and no too heavily dominated by the hops.

Black Chocolate Stout from Brooklyn Brewery

Bottle Pours black with a dark tan head that leaves some determined lacing. Aroma is of tanned leather, licorice and of course chocolate, but not as much as I expected, and prunes. Flavor is coffee bittersweet chocolate, bourbon, and charcoal. Finish is a bit more bitter than I expected, but the feel is rich and appropriately heavy. Very nice.

I have been pretty pleased with a number of Brooklyn products so it was with a nice amount of anticipation that I came to their Weisse. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle the beer poured a cloudy orange-gold color wit a very small white head. A strong aroma of sweet wheat with a hint of sour tang drifted across the table. The front flavor was sweet wheat and this was followed by a dry wheat flavor on the middle and aftertaste. There was a mild sour tang but no real citrus. A hint of spice. Quite wheaty. Another decent beer by Brooklyn but they have a number that I like much more.

Appearance is nice: golden, unfiltered, with a nice head. Smell is mildly banana, with hints of wheatiness in there. Flavor is very plain, very ordinary. Kinda bitter, not too bad- but a rather boring brew.

Deep brown, with very little head. Aroma is sweeter than most brown ales- kinda fruity, and definitely full of flavor. Taste is sweet, medium bodied, and nice. Very drinkable beer.

Draught at Brewtopia ’04 Thin, disappearing head on a cloudy light yellow beer. The aroma is mildly malted spiced vanilla. Corriander and spice kick in to give this a clean, pleasant aftertaste. Spicy and refreshing.

2004 bottle. Pours a lovely rosy orange color. Good creamy head, small and sticky, sitting right on top. Lacing, and lots of bubbles. But very clear. Aroma is light, a bitter shot of hops (Goldings I guess, not really sure what else) Pretty mild, with a good bitter shot of hops for flavoring, which quickly moves in to a sweet, caramelly body. Wow, this is an almost full bodied beer, that is not overstated. Maybe a bit too sweet. Ripe oranges, bananas, limes, cherries and good fruity, bitter hops. A tough drink if you are trying to knock back a bunch of beers, but pretty tasty.

Hazy blonde with a small white foamy head. Light aroma of bananas and spices. Good malt, wheat and bananas with a touch of lemon tartness. Good bodied.

12 oz bottle from 2004. Pours a thick yellow, clear, but not pale or thin looking. Decent white head, and a mix of sweet honey and almonds with crisp floral hops. Flavor begins slowly of light malt, sweet and a bit thin, but then some sour yeast notes come in and it eventually finishes very crisp and clean. No adjuncts, no skunkiness, just a drinkable, well-made lager. Dosent have the aroma of the Bohemian pilsners, but still has a good hops flavor, though could use some more flavor altogether.
