Draft at BJ’s Pinellas Park, FL. Poured thin gold in color with thin bright white head. The aroma is of grain malts. I also pick up a bit of noble hops and yeast notes. The taste starts sweet but then some chewy hops show up with the grain malts. Nice refreshing fresh flavor beer.

Draft. Hazy brown amber beer with a whitish head. Spice/banana/wheat/caramel aroma. Caramel/wheat/spice/light banana/lemon flavor. Lingering spicy wheat. Medium body. It’s all there that you’d expect from a dunkleweizen, but that’s about it.

Sample at the Columbus location. This beer is a dark reddish-brown color with a dense light tan head that has good retention. Spotty lacing on the glass. Roasty aroma with some coffee and nutty notes. Medium-bodied with a toasted malt and coffee flavor, as well as a bit of chocolate. The finish is dry and roasty with a mild hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

Sample at the Columbus location. Clear dark brown color with a medium off-white head that has decent retention. Stringy lacing. The aroma is nutty and has malty characteristics as well. Medium-bodied with a smooth texture. The flavor is sweet malt, nuts and soft hops. The finish is mildly bitter and does not linger much. Aside from the clever name, it is average all around.
