Draft at Oxnard, CA Best of the 10 I tasted tonight! Nose is malty citrus with banana and a clove hint. Hazy gold with a white, long-lasting head the laced the glass. Nice hefe flavor with the wheat and citrus and banana showing well!

Deep red-foxy; good yellow-brown head. Vinous but a tad vinegary nose, wine, wood, tannins, flowery and lots of fruit (apricot, orange,...) on brandy. Very aggressive lactic and a tad acetic fruity taste. Retronasal explosion of fruit flavours, esters, vanilla and wood. Aggressive but all the same pleasing. Very smooth, slick texture and alcoholic². Whoa - not bad. Must be a great dinner beer.

Draught at BJ’s, Burbank (CA). Clear nut brown. Neutral aroma. Dry with clean mouthfeel and light body. There’s some cardboardy malt flavour and mustard-like hop notes. Spicy, medium intense bitterness dominate the finish. Not a convincing ESB.

Draught at BJ’s, Burbank (CA). Hazy dark amer, average head. Artificial blueberry aroma. Extremely sweet. Tastes like syrup mixed with cane sugar and blueberry jam. Medium bodied with styicky finish. Oh god, what a mess! I don’t even know if it was flavoured with blueberries, or if that just was some strange esters.

Draught at BJ’s, Burbank (CA). Cloudy mahogany colour. Aroma of cinnamon and sage. Sweet and full bodied with sticky mouthfeel. Notes of raspberry and band-aid. A bit artificial, overly spicy and cloyingly sweet.

Near black colour. Big up front oatmeal aroma with nuts and hints of chocolate and coffee. Incredibly appetizing. Starts off roasty, then fades to a great milk chocolate character - very smooth, sweet and pure. There is a light nuttiness in the finish for variety. Creamy, full mouthfeel. Satisfying light stout with all the elements you want in a traditional oatmeal stout.
