Tap into a pint glass showing moderately filtered caramel brown with a finger of clean white foam. The nose shows a lot of bourbon and pine hops. The palate is medium bodied and moderately carbonated. Bourbon forward with light pine resin and a strong bourbon caramel finish.

12oz can at the April Fools Day DC Ratebeer tasting, brought by Iphonephan, thanks Dick! Poured a brown, semi-translucent color with a small light white head. Aroma was light sweet brown notes. Sweet nutty notes. Light sweet malt finish. Some herbal, earthy hop notes.

Got in a trade with The-Adjunct-Hippie. 12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 9/29/2016. Pours hazy golden amber/light orange color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to as thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, light pepper, pine, honey, light caramel, toasted bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/pine hops and moderate bready malt notes; with good strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, light pepper, pine, honey, light caramel, toasted bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus rind/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, pine, honey, toasted bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/pine hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no astringent hop flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from lingering bitterness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately sticky/resin/rindy, and bready/grainy/creamy balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 6.1%. Overall this is a very good IPA. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/pine hops and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink. Nicely vibrant on hops with balancing malts; not overly bitter or drying. A very classic tasting and enjoyable IPA. Lots of "C" hop character.

On draught at Galloways.
A: Deep red/copper colour, small head of foam, short lasting though a ring around the glass and an island in the middle remain. Not much lacing.
S: Caramel malt, a bit of fruit, slightly roasty, very small hint of smoke.
T: caramel malt, slight smoke, tolerable level of butterscotch. I love! the finish.
M: Medium bodied with enough carbonation to get the job done.
O: Could be one of my favorite Scottish Ales brewed in the US.

Had this at yesterdayโs Riverfest in Casper.
It poured a clear amber with a small head of foam, a little bit of lacing.
The smell had some caramel malt and earthiness. Very light aroma.
The taste was sweet from the caramel, musty from the earthy element, pretty nicely balanced and an easy drinker. Not too shabby for the usually boring style.
