On tap at Thunder Canyon, pours a deep dark mahogany with a tiny beige head. Aroma brings out lots of dark fruits, followed by booze, caramel and vanilla. Flavour is very medicinal, with dark fruits, booze and syrupy cloying sweetness. Like drinking nasty cough syrup. Terrible.

On tap at Thunder Canyon, pours a deep dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma brings out bready malt and a touch of dark red fruits. Flavour is messy and confused, with dark fruits, light tartness and messy phenols. Not a well-constructed beer by any means. Messy and uncoordinated.

On tap at Thunder Canyon, pours a cloudy dark amber orange with a small beige head. Aroma brings out bready malt and a touch of the candied sugar. Flavour brings out more of the candied sugar, followed by caramel and bready malt. Not the most dynamic or complex beer, but it works reasonably.

Poured into a pint glass, the appearance was a dark red color with a bar pour’s kind of slim white head. Lacing seems to be barely there.
The aroma had some malty sweet nuts and then a slight spicy rye. Some sweetness from the rye opens up and brings out a sly earthiness to it. Balancing grassy hops are there.
The flavor balances nicely between the rye malts and the sweet nuts. Earthiness and grassiness is there as well. Balanced sweet to spicy aftertaste with the same sort of finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation was fairly light. ABV felt fine too. Spiciness seemed good and tamed by the malts, moved nicely along my tongue.
Overall, nicely done amber ale reinventing a style not as many people like these days. I would have again.

On tap at Real, Wild & Woody Beer Festival, pours a clear golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out considerable piney hops and biscuity malt in good balance. Flavour is infected with diacetyl, along with piney hops and biscuity malt. Shame about the infection. Could be good, but not as is.
