660ml bottle-pours a big foamy to creamy tan head and mahogany color. Aroma is dark malt-chocolate/molasses/peat, maybe some licorice, some earthy hops. Taste is dark malt-chocolate/molasses/peat, maybe some licorice, some earthy hops-with a fair amount of astringency which goes from initial thru aftertaste, medium body. The astringency reduces by the second pour then some dark fruitiness comes through. OK carbonation.

Bottle. Lager-like aroma with a bit more malt and metallic notes. Sweet malt flavor with a bit of noble hops, caramel, and earth. Medium bodied. Lingering metallic sweet malt. See4ms more like a super-pils (not extra hops, just alcohol). Mouthfeel a bit oily.

(Bottle, Monk’s Café, Stockholm, 8 Feb 2008) Almost black colour with ruby notes, frothy pale brown head. Roasted, malty nose with chocolate and liquorice. Roasted, malty taste with notes of chocolate, liquorice and a fairly dry finish with notes of coffee. Light to medium body, fairly dry, with smooth, creamy mouthfeel. More and more taste as it warms up. A well made porter.
