Description
We are apple growers and artisan cider makers based in Husthwaite, North Yorkshire. Husthwaite has been known as the ‘Orchard Village’ since the early 17th Century. The fruit, mainly apples, was shipped all over the north east of England. By the late 1960s nearly all of the existing orchards had gone and there was very little evidence of the village’s heritage.
Orchards of Husthwaite was formed in 2009 to replant the vanishing orchards and use the fruit to make and sell a variety of products including Galtres ciders and juices. Some of our surplus funds each year are used to fund local community projects.

Growler from LCB. Says this edition is 6.9%. it pours ever so slightly hazy with a small, bubbly white head. The aroma is musty, funky, barnyard, sweet - sour, juicy apple, pole skin, dried apple, melon and pear drops. The taste is initially quite smooth and juicy, bright fruitiness, apple, pear, melon, fizzy sour candy, sour app chewits, dried apple, crunchy apple, light tannin, touch of funk, barnyard, dry leaves, earth and dry oak with a drying finish. Medium body and no carbonation. Nice juicy fruits, barnyard and a touch of tannin to balance it out.

500ml bottle from Crafty Merlin's Beer Store, Darlington. Reddish orangey-golden colour, pinkish foam head that quickly dissipates away and aroma of berry fruits. Taste is sweet, berries, strawberry, fruity, with alittle apple, sugary. Medium bodied, spritzy carbonation, sweet sugary finish. Too sweet for me.

440ml can, thanks to danlo for this. Drunk on one of the last super hot days of the summer, after an hour rowing upstream and taking a break from the current. Pours gold with a faint mist. Aroma brings good crisp fleshy sweet apple fruit. Taste is similarly fleshy, moderately sweet, medium carbonation, distant acidity, generally well rounded and crushable. Would've much rather drink this in my cider-drinking youth than Strongbow.
