It's not going to win many awards I wouldn't think, but is a decent enough fruity pale ale. Pours a clear pale gold with a small, frothy white head, and an aroma of slightly bitter oranges. The mouthfeel is extremely fizzy, and somewhat thin, with oranges to the fore and some bitterness thrown in

275ml bottle from Morrisons as part of 4 British Ales for £4. Light copper colour, small white head, circular retention. Aroma of light caramel malts, straw. Taste is light caramel, quite sweet, light bodied although not watery, low almost non existent bitterness. Quite bland but not unpleasant. Its not really an ale and there is no mention of the low carb element to this which is surely its selling point. Odd, as is the beer to a degree as it lacks any of the normal elements of lager as well in the flavour. Its basically like a light caramel malt alcoholic beverage, one-dimensional but perfectly drinkable and I strangely enjoyed it.

275ml bottle from Morrisons. Dark brown, small beige head, no retention. Aroma of malts, chocolate, liquorice but all a bit light. Taste is roasted malts, cola, touch of citrus again a bit watery. Light bodied. Not too keen on this.

Cask at Knights Templar (JDW), Bristol. Pours light hazy amber with a decent white head. Aroma: malt, fruity, leafy hops. Taste: caramel malts, ripe fruits. Medium bodied with ample carbonation. Actually pretty decent

[50cl bottle from Waitrose, Bracknell, bottle #29303.] A bright pale copper coloured pour with a fast fading white head and gentle carbonation; subtle fruity aroma with traces of mango; sweet tropical fruit taste with a caramel malt base; then a drier finish with juicy English hops that are both floral and fruity. Excellent.

500ml bottle. This is the top rated beer in my region of the West Mids on here and I've only just found it on the shelves! Pours amber, small off-white head, good retention. Aroma of caramel, bread, very malty. Taste is sweet, caramel, malty, stale resinous hop. Body is quite full considering the ABV. Its fine but not moreish despite it being a malty bitter. I want to tip my imaginary hat to these traditional beers from the old big brewers, but its hard sometimes.

500ml bottle. Dark red, thin head, circular retention. Aroma of roasted malts, dark fruits, toffee, quite earthy. Taste surprised me by being very nice, semi-sweet, smooth, dark fruits, spice, toffee malts, booze, low to moderate bitterness in the finish. A lovely treat of a beer. I wasn't expecting this from Marston's, this is by far and away the best I've tried from this brewer.

Keg as there f all else for me to drink. It pours clear golden - amber with a small frothy white cap. The aroma is soft, sweet, fragrant, floral, citrus peel, limey tang, kiwi and biscuit. The taste is crisp, touch of bitterness, quite floral actually, grain, cereal, peppery spice, pithy citrus action, biscuit malt, touch metallic and some grass with a slightly grainy finish. Light to medium body and fine carbonation. I expected a lot worse and have had a lot worse. Fair.
