12oz can sampled at D’vine’s in Columbia Heights. Pours a dark gold with some fluffy white head. Nose has some grass, some lemon, buttered biscuit, hay, some mild yeast. Flavors are the same, a little juicy, some malt, grass. Clean finish.

Bottle @ home, thanks to jcnielsen. Pours a cloudy yellow orange appearance with a cream colored head. Tropical fruity, a bit woody, a bit papery aroma. A little twangy. Kind of dusty / cardboard-y flavor. Plenty of citrus. Moderate to high sweetness. High bitterness. Not in the best shape but I’m still not a huge fan.

12 ounces of a 750 ml bottle (2014) poured into a tulip-style goblet. Pours a clear amber/golden orange color with 1-2 fingers of off-white head that fades moderately. Nice head retention leaving a half finger ring around the glass. Sparse lacing. Aromas of wine, a little oak, berries, stone fruit, honey, slightly medicinal/boozy notes. Tasting notes of wine, raspberries, subtle tart fruit, wheat, herbs and spices, light booze. Medium body with a dry and warm finish. Medium carbonation, slick mouthfeel. Interesting beer, would love to try the others in this series.

Bottle - thanks brentk56! Pours lightly hazy orange with a small white head that dissipates fairly slowly and leaves decent lacing. Aroma is light overall, vinous, fakish-raspberry, some oak. Flavor is about the same, a bit of raspberry, some wheat notes poking through, oaky tannins, some wine. Light sweet, fairly tannic and a bit of fruit skin bitterness on the back end. Medium body, highly carbonated, a bit hot. Nothing amazing to be sure, but better than I expected given the ratings.
