About
Located a few kilometers from Cognac, the Brasserie des Gabariers asserts its belonging to the Charentais terroir by making quality craft beers, made from the best ingredients. The Brasserie des Gabariers takes its name from the ‘Gabares’; flat-bottomed boats that were historically used to sail grain alcohol and other wares up and down the Charente river. By then a family-owned affair, in 2016 the brewery was transplanted onto a winery dating back all the way to 1869, in the picturesque town of Plaizac. There, it would develop its range of top-tier craft beer, including a patented recipe based on Cognac.

much better than the cognac, sweeter, and not as cloying. the alcohol is not as present or harsh in this one, nice and drinkable. good notes of dried fruit, and candy sugar.

wow, this isnt drinkable, big time drain pour. The Armagnac is nice, but this is so boozey, and unbalanced, and all over the place, not much sweetness like you would think. At only 5.9% the booze is very prevalent. didnt enjoy this at all.

Stylish white bottle 0,33 ltr: Clear brown colored brew with slightly sweet taste with an subtle bitternesh and some small tickling alcohol, hints of figs and very subtle the cognac. I remembered the old version that was over the top witch the cognac and it seems the Des Gabariers brew for them self again.
