Can from The Gull, North Vancouver
Hazy to cloudy blond colour, with greenish hue; medium head. Nice aroma of citrus fruits with a hint of tropical fruit. Dry mouthfeel, snappy malt base, that's quite good; the hops are resinous, with some orange peel, the bitterness is bold for the style, and therefore more in balance than the average Hazy.
Pretty good.

473ml can. Pours a hazy yellow gold with a medium, foamy, long lasting, white head that leaves soapy curtains of lace. Sweet fruity aroma of toasted rice, pineapple, passionfruit, mango, cantaloupe, tangerine and peach. Sweet fruity flavour of bready wheat malt, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, coconut and piney hops in a dry, bitter finish. Medium body with a sticky, oily texture and average carbonation. Toasted rice was very subtle, but tasty and enjoyable.

Bottle from The Gull, North Vancouver
Dark brown colour. Aroma of cocoa, chocolate, caramel. Good body, moderate sweetness, some caramel, chocolate; not much depth, but it's good enough; some whiskey, and alcohol warmth.

500 ml bottle. Pours a very dark brown with no head. Aromas of dark chocolate, oaky whisky, and roasted malts. Flavors of follow same with less whisky and a bit of fruitiness. Clean. Nice.

500ml @ Ryan's shared with Alex. Appearance: dark brown with a nice beige head. Aroma: woody, ashes, sweet, booze, cheap whiskey. Taste: along the same lines, a bit rough. Overall: ok, nothing special and sophisticated here.

Poured from 500mL bottle. Near black with small beige head. Roasty, very feint coconut and chocolate, mild whiskey barrel. If they used better whiskey barrels maybe it would have been good, but it's just okay. Lacking depth. Prefer original Kindling (2020-), but maybe this is an age issue...

500mL bottle, pours black with a small beige head. Nose is complex, with lots of whiskey barrels, some dry cocoa and medium roasted malt. Flavour is rich and fairly dry, with whiskey barrels, roasted malt, and a touch of cocoa. Balanced well, with a nice whiskey character. Very good.

Golden colour, slightly hazy. Resinous hops, in aroma and flavour, well balanced, with bready malt base, touches of toffee and toasted bread; bold bitterness.
Bold Pale Ale, quite good.
