Enjoyed ourselves at the Bar Nouveau, GBBF 08, with this more-than-average British bitter. It delivered a satisfying taste of tropical fruits supported by a lingering, dry bitter ending. Quite well bodied for the strength (I was so attached to the taste, that I forgot to make notes on the appearance, but it was reasonably good looking) (Hand-pulled cask, 07.08.2008).

Cask, Wirral Food and Drink festival. Ah said pay attention, boy ! Dark clear reddy colour with a medium creamyish white head. Fragrant hoppy aroma. Good balance of malt and fruit in the flavour with a nice dry bitter finish. A very drinkable bitter.

(Cask at GBBF, London, 7 Aug 2008) Golden yellow colour with frothy, white head. Fruity, slightly grainy nose with citrus and tropical fruit. Fruity taste with a decent malt foundation, notes of citrus, tropical fruit and grassy hops in a moderately bitter finish. Below medium body. Decent and refreshing.

Cask at GBBF 2008 Pours dark brown in colour with beige head. This is really good, slightly sweet maybe but there are some lovely roasted burnt wood flavours pulsing through the bitterness hangs for some considerable time and there is coffee and bitter chocolate. This is a very good UK stout!

Cask, Ship Inn, Hoylake. Very dark reddy brown colour with a creamy off white head. Great lacing. Aroma was dark chocolate and coffee tinged with the unmistakable whiff of a pecked ,seaweed bedraggled mussel shell lying on the shoreline of Hilbre island. Gorgeously smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Flavour perfectly balanced with roasty malt and coffee. A cracking stout, probably as good as I’ve had. Big up the OC massive !! from the shore of Machrihanish to the Red Rocks of Hoylake boyeeee!!!
