Bottle thanks to NeoHippie2. Pours inky black with large spongy beige head, mocha aroma, medium carbonation, thin body, lightly bitter coffee beans taste, slight chocolaty sweetness, medium bitter mocha finish. A bit watery but tasty.

Growler: Brown with a red tint...short beige head. Mild bourbon, cola, chocolate scent. Flavour is chocolate malt....increasing bourbon notes...fairly substantial herbal/peel bitter. It certainly develops some IPA traits the farther you go.....not bad.

sampled at Oktobeerfest 2015 - I’m having difficulty determining if "tequila grande" as it was listed at the festival, ie. "tequila centeno grande", is the same beer as "centeno grande", or if it’s the "centeno grande" with the addition of tequila barrel aging. If anyone knows please let me know. For now I will assume that the beer under this listing is tequila barrel aged. Pours near black with a small tan head. It smells of dark roast malt and chocolate. The flavor is of roast malt, chocolate, some interesting spices, and yes, some tequila character that’s noticeable without being overwhelming. Medium to full bodied. Really good. This brew just works.
