Tap at B&G. A Belgian wheat with local citrus fruits. First time, surprisingly, for them to do a wit, I think. Cloudy bright gold with a fine, large head. Juicy citrus, wheat, biscuits in the nose. wheaty, citrus, crackers flavor. Full-ass body. Not my favorite style, and not the best version in Japan, but a good one.

Hideji Dark Chestnut Ale 9% I got this at CBB SEED as many praised it and I’ve gotta say the inky look and rusty tan head looked pretty good. The head fizzed away a bit too fast though and the aroma gave soy/umami savory elements with a floral/fruity nutty chestnut too. Full bodied with a dry finish and a surprisingly fruity floral almost perfume like nutty chestnut flavor. It’s pretty intense and actually I found it off-putting at first but it’s growing on me. Well worth trying but be prepared for sticker shock as it is 1000¥/Bottle and often pricey on tap as well...

Dont know if this is a rebrand of another IPA, but I had this at Kyushu Festival in Yoyogi Park in Oct 2018 and asked they said it is just called Hideji IPA, but also people serving the beer didn't know a lot about the brand either. slightly hazy golden color. Nice floral hoppy nose with some grapefruit notes, slightly sweet. Low carbonation, nice mouth feel. Slightly sweet malty base with moderately aggressive bitterness. Very drinkable, but not sure world class by any stretch but a definite crowd pleaser

Tap a Beer Stand Molto. Tea added to what seems to be a lager. Medium amber color, clear. Crisp crackery malts, finishes dry and nicely bitter, the tea and the hops working perfectly together. Very crisp with nice pilsner malt character and light tea flavor.

Tap at Keyaki, Spring 2018. Huge citrus nose, zesty, juicy. Dry and zesty flavor, very fruity. Tasty, a bit austere. Nice though. Liked it better than their own branded Hyuganatsu Ale when side by side.

Tap at Takumiya. Pretty, pale yellow, hazy, with lace. Dry, crisp, crackery nose, mikan. Light and hoppy, crackery malt, nice grain, again good use of fruit. Slightly too dry and light for me.

Tap at Takumiya. Crisp, light, crackery malt nose, citrus hops. Nice German-like malt character, somewhat pils-like and snappy, citrus hops. Light and crisp and tasty.
