Description
Birbant is one of the pioneers of Polish craft brewing - bold, independent, and driven by creativity. We don’t follow the noise - we brew what truly matters.
Birbant (pronounced ‘beer-bunt’; Polish for ‘bon vivant’) contract brewery was established in 2013 by Jarek and Krzysiek (a.k.a. Kuli), two brewers and beer enthusiasts. Jarek is a professional brewer, who’s worked with several different breweries, while Kuli started brewing at home in 2003 and in the ten years before Birbant many of his home batches earned him awards at homebrew competitions. In their own words: “We have worked together on new recipes for a few years now. Our goal is to make flavorful and exceptionally aromatic beers we would like to drink ourselves.”

Puszka 0.5l (BB 18.10.2022). Słodycz, spore słodowe ciało, średnia do wysokiej goryczka, lekko podbijana przez delikatny alkohol, treściwe, wyszło całkiem przyzwoicie.

Fair, steady head. The beautiful amber color of this foggy beer. Leaves nice lacing. A fruity aroma that includes mango, orange, some multivitamin, peach, and apple-carrot juice. Awesome. High bitterness with balanced sweetness. Full body, medium carbonation. Velvet-like in the mouth. Really great beer. It's so damn drinkable.

330ml bottle. Murky, dark amber colour with slightly late awakening, average to huge, thick, creamy, moderately to mostly lasting, moderately lacing, off-white head. Condensed, resinous, hoppy and malty aroma, notes of almond, marzipan, a touch of mandarine peel, candied orange peel, whiffs of lemon, old, wizened apple, papery overtones, cardboard. Taste is sweet-ish malty, slightly citrusy, fruity and resinous hoppy, hints of powdered sugar, marzipan, orange, mandarine, orange peel, a touch of candied orange peel, old, wizened apple; immense hop bitterness is bridled, but has an accumulating effect. Creamy-oily, viscous texture, super soft, smooth and greasy, minimally pungent palate, fine, creamy carbonation. Fantastic head, rather unflattering, if not off-putting colour, excellent mouthfeel, more condensed than intense hop flavours - interesting, not fully convincing.
