33cl bottle at 1.50€. Deep red color, quite dark, unfiltered, becomes cloudy when all is poured, lots of yeast remain in the bottle. Short off-white to tanned head, thin lacing. Some roasted malts on the nose. Light spicy malts, a hint of caramel, lots of herbal tones and grassy\soapy hop folding. Moderate sweetness with a pleasing bitter finish and a mild sourness. Yeast and alcohol presence are not invasive. Body is light to medium and it’s overall dry. Carbonation is fizzy but not excessive. I’d say this is a very nice and smooth light red beer, easy to drink, I’ll consider buying the 75cl bottle next time.

33 cl bottle, 1.50€. I twisted the bottle upside down to allow sediment to drop in. Very dark hazy orange to brown, big off-white head quickly reducing to a very nice laydown without any lace on the glass. Sparkling. Nose of yeast and citrus. Lots of citrus and yeast in there, typical "homemade" feel, moderate harshness and lively carbonation. There’s a soapy note and some fruity tones and spices comes as it warms up. Body is thin, texture is watery and the finish is dry with a soft bitterness. I can feel alcohol (thus being stated 4.8%), this bottle was old, best before feb. 2012, so it may had excessive refermentation. I should have a fresh bottle to judge, I appreciate brewer entrance in the big distribution market but i think something more can be done with this product. 5/3/4/2/9=2.3 --- UPDATE: got another one best before dec. 2012 (10 months): a little better, but not that big difference. Lighter orange appearance. Malts are more prominent and overall is smoother that the other bottle. I wonder why alcohol is so in evidence here... Still raw and far from a good German Hefeweizen. 6/3/5/10=2.5

Bottle from A Tutta Birra, Milan, 8% ABV
Hazy amber color; creamy head. The aroma shows some vegetables, honey. Smooth and highly carbonated; malt and strong honey flavor, sweetish, a bit vegetable. One of few beers with a clear honey character.

Great chunky amber coloured body with a dense copper and bronze glow and a thin, fast-dying white head. Aroma of alcohol, metal, malt, caramel, toffee and yes, a touch of honey. Medium-bodied; Sweet flavour of honey and caramel followed soon afterwards by a lot of nuts, alcohol, rum and a touch of oak. Aftertaste is sweet and dry with a lot of alcohol notes. Overall, a nice beer with a good complex characteristic, full of flavour and style. Great to sample, for sure! I sampled this 50 cL, completely unlabeled (aside from a tag around the neck of the bottle) with a gold foil cap/top purchased from A Tutta Birra in Milan, Italy on 12-November-2009 for €6.50 sampled at home in Washington on 21-February-2011 after spending part of the day at Eataly in New York.
