bottle from bierpost. Deep brown, almost black, creamy beige head. Malty and sweet with lots of roasty flavours, caramel, chocolate, coffee... Highly drinkable, sweet but not too sweet.

Appearance: Clear brown color with a tan head.
Aroma: Slightly sweet fruity and caramel malty.
Palate: Medium body. Tad sweet and a average bitterness. Soft carbonation.
Taste: Caramel malty and mild fruity.
Overall impression: Tasty nice mild dunkel.
Personal stats: On tap at an Czech beerfestival in Budapest, Hungary.

getrunken im Frühling 2013 Ich weiß nicht zu welchen Fest dieses Bier gebraut wurde, aber es icht auch nicht so wichtig. Es erinnert ein bisschen an eine Mischung aus tschechischen Halbdunklen und bayrischen Märzen mit seiner Bernsteinfarbe und den karamellmalzigen Körper. NIcht übel, aber es gibt bessere und ausgewogenere Biere.

Bottled 500ml. -Golden coloured, medium sized white head, some grain in the nose. Weak malty, not so pleasant grainy with notes of vegetables. Watery bitterish finish. Cheap and boring.

Draught at BBF12. Almost black colour, clear with a red shine. Small off-white head. The flavour seems very sweet to begin with, but one gets used to it after a while. Has a good bitterness to balance.

Bottle, small stable head, clear deep brown colour with lots of red taints, aroma and flavour of dark bread and dried fruits wit ha hint of yeast on the aroma . Drinkable but not exciting.

Picked up this 500ml bottle while in Berlin: opened at home on 16 Mar 2013. Poured into a Veltin’s stemmed tulip glass twice. Really deep ruby red body when held up to a light source: otherwise a dirty black/brown. The head tried hanging around: it starts off big and bold but the tanned bubbles turn into a wisp and collar half way down the glass each time. Roasted malts all the way in the nose: almost burnt malts in fact. The taste is also all malt: roasted/toasted with a smoked Ham joint in the kettle with the brew. Molasses from those malts give it a sweet feel, as if the Ham has a toffee and caramel coating. As the beer warmed a little chocolate and nut flavours appeared along side the toffee and caramel coated smoked Ham: most enjoyable, if a bit sweet and lacking in true body depth and strenght. One of the better Scwarzbier I’ve had so far.

500ml bottle. Clear golden colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Decent bitter hoppy aroma, pale malty background with a bready touch. Taste is slightly bitter hoppy, cautiously spicy with subtle sweetness.

Bottle. Very dark brown color with a medium bubbly beige head. Aroma of cheap milk chocolate, nutty notes, caramel and a bit of iced-cappuccino. Sweet malty flavor, a bit kvass/malzbier-like with caramel, coffee with milk and sugar, nutty hints and a bit of toasted bread. Finishes more roasty. Rather light-bodied. Too sweet to be enjoyable.
