Bottle from the Black Toad. Appearance - golden yellow. Very light haze and a snow white head. Nose - lemon, grapefruit, biscuits and a little caramel sneaking in. Taste - as per the nose but the caramel is more pronounced this time. Palate - light bodied, zesty and fairly fresh on the finish. Overall - yeah, decent and drinkable.

Bottle from the Black Toad. Appearance - a little lively on opening. Murky green to brown. Nose - lemon and pith. Floral and plant stalks. Taste - lemon, lemon balm and grassy. Light bready note. Palate - light bodied, refreshing finish. Overall - looked terrible, didn't smell amazing but tasted a lot better. A relief after reading the previous reviews.

Cask at Kavanagh’s, Liverpool on 20th August 2021. Clear gold with shallow whitish foam and full lacing. Velvety malts, tangy soft fruits and citrus aroma. Biscuit malts and zesty citrus in-mouth, with hints of cheesecake. An agreeable finish of fruitiness and biscuity malts. A smooth mouthfeel and a light body afford easy drinking. Very pleasant.

Cask at Shrewsbury Arms, Stafford Pours a pale straw with a small white head and good lacing. Aroma is mainly floral hops with traces of biscuits and lemon. In the mouth it is sweet with a greasy texture. There is an upfront maltiness, but a background taste of baked beans and hints of lemon. Finish is bitter. Not too keen on this at all – but it does taste better if swigged
