Bladder bag at the Four Candles, Broadstairs, 21/05/21. Pale clear golden with nothing offered in way of a head. Nose is bitter sweet apple tones, dusty hay, light funk levels, grains, wooded notes. Taste comprises tangy apple skins, tannins, light barnyard, residual sugars, iced glazing, vanilla trace. Medium bodied, fine to light carbonation, assertive dryness in the close. Solid stuff ... does not come in near 8% ... could do you some damage unknowingly sipping away on this !

Draught at the Horse & Trumpet, Sileby. Light gold, clear with no sort of head. Apple aroma, some sharp metallic notes. Lovely taste, it threatens to become sweet but has that telltale cider tang in the long finish. Sour and bittersweet apple in the aftertaste. Surprised by the low rates. This is ace.

Big litre bottle from the source. It pours clear very pale straw yellow with a couple of bubbles on top. The aroma bis sweet and juicy, tangy apple, apple cordial, some mellow sourness, sherbet, sour green, chewits and a touch of apple. The taste is quite soft upfront, sweet, juicy, tangy, apple cordial, apple skin, touch of pucker, some oiliness, sour green sour chewits, slick and alcohol which creeps up on you with a finish that fries out. Medium to Full, flat but not not dead with a touch of oiliness. Thankfully not overly sweet has a lovely tanginess to it. Given the last reviews from 14 years ago(!) I imagine they have improved this beverage. Very enjoyable.

Sample, thanks Grumbo! Misty straw yellow. Moderately sweet aroma, custard hints, taste is centred on a green apple character, crisp and crunchy in feel, with a nice bristling carbonation, gently tangy, sweet. Very good.
