Cask at Pen Y Bryn Hotel, Llanrwst. Lightly hazy deep golden. Light grapefruity nose. Light-medium body with soft mouthfeel. Mid sweet with orange peels and mid-bitter finish. Nicely drinkable.

Cask@GWBCF2011. Deep ambery brown colour with a small head. Aroma is fruits, some ashes, mild yeast as well as some chocolate and roasted notes. Flavour is roasted malts, some chocolate as well as mild wooden and fruity notes. Rather fruity porter, but very pleasant in balance!

Cask (gravity) @ 27th Pigs Ear Beer and Cider Festival 2010, at The Round Chapel in Hackney, London, EnglandClear dark red brown colour with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, roasted, chocolate malt notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a long duration, roasted, sweet burnt caramel, soya notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20101201]

Cask (gravity) @ 27th Pigs Ear Beer and Cider Festival 2010, at The Round Chapel in Hackney, London, England.Unclear dark brown colour with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, spicy, cinnamon. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, sipcy, cinnamon, to spicy for me ! Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat to soft. [20101202]

Cask, gravity at The White Horse, Hedgerley, Bucks 16.04.11 Amber in colour, fruity with a bitter malty finish. Not sure that this was totally my thing found there to a be a littkle bit of washing up liquid taste in the backl of the mouth and the bitterness and fruitiness were lacking somewhat. A6 A3 T6 P3 Ov11 2.9

Cask at NWAF, Manchester 21.01.11 Pours almost black in appearance but some ruby highlights show, bubbly off-white head. Bit of liquorice, touch roasty, nice. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4

Pigs Ear. Hazy brown beer, no head. Semi dry palate. Zero carbonation. Mildly spiced malt, cinnamon, cloves. Dry finish. A bit dull but drinkable.

On gravity at the Royal Oak, Bath 25/02/10. Deep brown with next to no head. Sweet fruity aroma, with some nuts and a touch of chocolate. Flavour started sweet, with fruit, something vegetal and a slightly metallic, bitter finish. My least favourite beer at the Royal Oakβs winter festival.

Cask-conditioned at the Bag OβNails, Bristol 6/12/07. Amber coloured with a decent, lacy white head. Citrus hop aroma with some supporting malt. The flavour was biscuity to start before a long grapefruit hop finish. Excellent.
