Description
The Yeastie Boys - Stu McKinlay and Sam Possenniskie are the dynamic duo of New Zealand's craft beer scene. They burst onto the beer landscape with two trophies for their flagship porter Pot Kettle Black at BrewNZ 2009 and have remained firmly ensconced there ever since.
Yeastie Boys is a deliciously irreverent brewing company and, quite possibly, the world's smallest multinational. We take beer and people very seriously... everything else is unmitigated fun!
We brew in opposite ends of the earth - New Zealand, Australia & United Kingdom - to keep the world in good beer balance.

33cl can via Beer52. Golden body, white head. Belgian yeasty nose and taste, all a bit weak and cheap though.

33cl can from Beer52. Bland and pretty boring watered down beer. Very surprised to see the Yeastie Boys allowing their name to be associated with such a sad product.

[33cl can from Beer52, part of their Elements of Beer case (Jan 2026). "Brewed and canned for Yeastie Boys in the EU".] A bright pale amber coloured pour with a loose white head; weak citrusy aroma; sweet grainy taste with a little sweet lemon; then a dry citrus finish. Less interesting than the companion Romulus.

[33cl can from Beer52, part of their Elements of Beer case (Jan 2026). "Brewed and canned for Yeastie Boys in the EU".] A straw coloured pour with a loose white head; typical Belgian yeast aroma, with some banana in the background; thin in the mouth with a sweet fruity taste, becoming drier with some banana and a touch of cloves.

(Can) Pours hazy amber with a good white head. Great fruity aroma with stone fruit in the mix. Medium body with full soft carbonation. Great taste too. Fruity (mango) and quite sweet to start with the sweetness dropping off as the bitterness increases. Very enjoyable.

Can from a Beer52 four pack being sold off cheap at Waitrose. Deep gold with a white head. Another one with a far too aggressive and prickly carbonation. Tastes of tangerines and mango and honey and grapefruit. Sweetish with just a little bitterness in the finish. Decent stuff apart from the over-the-top fizz; bet this'd be good on cask!

Fairly clean and dry, some white grape, ripe peach, mango, citrus rind, mellow pine, bready pale malts. Basic but very easy-drinking.

Dark brown, opaque, with a thick, beige head that slowly dissipates. Aroma of deeply roasted malts, dry on the palate, with a burnt toast aftertaste and a pleasant fruity bitterness, followed by a lingering, fruity finish with herbal notes. A pleasant porter.
