Bottle. Pours a very dark brown with small tan head that lasts. The aroma is nuts, roast, cocoa. Medium body, similar flavors to nose, bitter roast finish, good.

Sampled form the cask. Pours a murky dark brown with no head whatsoever. Aroma has a good amount of chocolate, coconut, coffee and an earthy green pepper note. Flavor is much more heavy on the pepper with some coconut, chocolate, coffee and dark roasted malts supporting. A bit muddled.

Best thing here is the aroma: at first loads of caramel, then toned down cocoa, leather, a bit of raisins; didn’t pick up any bourbon. Flavor was kind of a surprise as it was kind of sweet tart and just the barest hint of bourbon. Highly carbonated. Short ok finish. Bit of a disappointment.

16oz at Sidedoor. Filtered yellow tan body. Thin, foamy white head. Bready brewhouse aroma, odd hints of apricot. Easy drinking,, but not really true to style. The fruity off tones seriously detract. Imperfect lager. Borderline macro stuff. Numbers seem generous, I would not buy this beer again.

From a bottle. Black of course. Aroma is a little sour, it seems like something might have gone wrong. Green apple, bourbon, lots of alcohol. Extreme roast character, but it seems like something went wrong.

Bottle thanks to Alex. Pours a very dark brown with small beige head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is strong roast, chocolate, wood, bourbon. Medium mouth, strong roast, dark chocolate, bourbon, wood, light bitter finish, good.

12oz bottle. Filtered orange body. Foamy white head. Sweet, not really hop forward enough to be a Pils of any variety. Sweet and malty, with a little bit of a hint of hoppiness, think heller Maibock. OK for the style, but more of a hop bite would have really made it noteworthy. No off tones, respectable lagering. I’d go for a few of these.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a hazy honey gold color topped by a massive pillowy white head that stays around. Yeasty malt nose has bready notes. Flavor is sharp bready malt and hay. Some bitterness. Some clove and vanilla. Complex and spicy with earthy notes. Spicy hops in finish have grassy, citrus notes. I liked this a lot. Don’t understand why ratings are so low. Excellent example of a Farmhouse Ale.
