Light citrus and caramel malts. Clear gold with a decent white head. Malt forward and sweet hoppy notes. Very old school.

Draft 12 oz pour at Brouwers. One ounce for each year of this place. Happy anniversary to these fine folks. More anniversaries means more good beers! Jet black pour with an island cream head. A malty aroma that was a bit strange for me. Slightly offputting. Flavor is much more pleasant, a ton of oak character, a dusty caramel malt, bold and dry oak finish. One of the more impressionable oak aged beers I’ve had in recent memory. Overall, a nice beer here.

Very dark. Sweet chocolate, dark fruit, faint roasted notes, some light sourness in the lingering finish. Medium bodied. A very well put together porter.

On tap. Pours black with very short tan head. Aromas roasted grain and black coffee. Flavors of ground coffee, dry acidic roasted barley, and powdery dry nuts. Nice

6oz at brewery. Very dark brown, almost black. Tan head, sticks around. Very roasted porter. Can easily be called a stout. Mild acidity and roast/fume is followed by a light "dry stout" like finish. Leaves a dry, lightly malt bitter, fumey finish. I could use a less roasted version.

6oz at brewpub. Golden-amber color. Frothy head, lots of lacing. Aroma is restrained hops and a little spicy rye, more malty than anything else. A little thicker body with a mix of rye and hop. Surprisingly, malty with a moderate rye character.
