Bold amber. Toasty malts combine with citrus and make for a tasty treat. Solid beer.

Dark brown, sweet but uneventful...the nose goes nowhere. Touch of coconut, hint of alcohol and roast, has a touch of sweet sugary goodness but never rounds into that full richness the best examples have.

Golden, sweet malts are a bit sweet, so really basic, with just a touch of fruity hop.

Medium brown, mellow cocoa, bit thin, not a whole lot behind this...just a thin, sweet, understated.

Cloudy, has a light stewed fruit, lots of bitterness, the malts are harsh, honestly. Husky. Like doing that style but at the margins.

Hazy amber-brown, aroma shows some really husky dark malts. Has a nice toffee note, though it lacks supporting sugars.

On tap at Naked City, pours a deep dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma brings out notes of wood, vinous notes, tart fruits and a little balsamic. Flavour is complex, with balsamic, vinous notes, some wood and tart fruits. Complex and well-rounded. Very good.

On tap at Naked City, pours a clear dull blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out straw, some grass and biscuity malt. Flavour is crisp, with crackery malt, some grass and herbal notes. Fairly grassy, but not particularly crisp. Okay.

On tap at Naked City, pours a deep dark reddish brown with a small tan head. Aroma brings out toasted malt, a little roast and dry earthiness. Flavour is similar, with toasted malt, some earth and chalk. Not a good example of the style. Too chalky.
