Tap at Grub. Quite tropical, bit of pine and resin, bit pineapple and mango maybe, bit of sharpness that is maybe reminiscent of grapefruit. Bit of malty sweetness. Alright. Lots of bits.

Tap at Tap Stand. Aroma is dark fruit, bit of spice. Taste is decent, fruity, Dr Pepper, malt hidden behind it. Lightly herbal, pretty nice. Some caramel sweetness. Maybe touch of kahlua

Tap at Grub. Fruity rye weirdness, nice. Initially taste is good but maybe fades a little further down. Nothing mind blowing but I just like rye beers. Tangerine in aroma, bit tropical, nice. --- Beer merged from original tick of Hoptrocity Rye Pale Ale (2010- ) on 09 Sep 2019 at 16:05 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 8 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 8. Draft pour to a tulip, enjoyed at Naked City. Getting a little cooler out, time for some warmers. Dark and dense near black pour. Rocky foam head, sticky lacing. Black cherry and soft sweet aroma. Flavor is a little more intricate, with spices, dark cherries, malts, dates. Bold flavor. Cherry is dominant, but far from sweet. Nice warning taste. Really good brew to sip on.

Tall can, courtesy of riversideAK, pours with a very un malt liquor like deep dark body that supports a tan head. Is this a Malt Liquor? Sure enough, proudly stating Premium Malt Liquor right on the label. The aroma offers up roasty notes that feed right into a molasses sensation and then thin spicy black licorice notes and not too much else at this low serving temperature. The taste is similar as I get dark roastiness and a modest level of spicy black licorice nuanced molasses. As it warms a tad and after a few more ounces the sweetness ramps up a bit but at the same rate as the roasty to almost charred molasses. Fun beer that is a pretty big departure from the traditional put-your-fist-through-the-wall in-order-to-choke-it-down Malt Liquor.

Deep orange. A very well balanced malt and citrus hop profile. Easy drinking IPA.

Dark orange. Bright citrus fruits, loads of caramel malt. Lingering hop bitterness and flavor in the finish. Good.

Clear orange. Toasty, sweet, fruity, sweet hay. Kind of odd. Medium thin body.
