Golden amber ale with a thin white head. Caramel malt aroma with very faint hops. In mouth, a rather light bodied APA with light malts and the faint floral hops. Too light, and dissapointing. No Hop Hazard here, whycall it that??? August 26,2006 at McGregor’s, Henrietta, NY.

A lightly hazed golden ale with a very thin lacing white head. Aroma is quite pleasant with initial fruity esters of pears, followed by some notes of coriander and thyme, and barnyard, herbal qualities. In mouth, a caramel malt, with belgian style hopping, with coriader and orange, with alcohol hidden. Medium bodied doesnt carry the whole thing very well. Cloying in the end. A venerable effort. Bouht at Beers of the World, Feb. 2006.

Bottle. Slightly dark brown color. Small head. Strong aroma, with some belgian ale aroma. Strong, but a very nice finish.

Bottle, poured into small pilsner glass. No head. Light brown/Dark Ruby color. Smell is strong, a mix of some spice and a Belgian aroma. Taste is confusing as well, mix of Belgian beer with spice or herb beer. Weak palate for such a beer. As it warms becomes more malty and a little sour. Overall, I like the idea of Belgian mixed with spice/herb but the exacution doesnt work out.

Medium red color with very minimal head - aroma of artificial sweetener, cherry syrup and brown sugar - thin bodied and flavored for the style - medium swet and roasty, a background sourness comes late - not terrible, but needs serious work.

Murky orange-amber with minimal (slightly scuzzy-looking) white head. Aromas are sweet with a little bit of a spicy character. Not univiting, but not complex either. Rather blah taste... sweet malt dominates with a little hoppy kick, but relatively unispiring. Butterscotch mixed with caramel is a pretty good description. Definitely lacks the kick of most ESB’s.

12oz bottle-pours a tan head with dark brown color. Aroma is sweet, malt, dark cherry. Taste is malt, oak barrel taste, sweet, mild carbonation. Medium bodied. Nothing that stands out as bad, just lacking.

12oz bottle-pours a foamy white head with gold color. Spices of vanilla oleander, (nutmeg?) are to dominant in the taste. Overall though, a nicely done beer.

on tap-pours a creamy, rich tan head that laces. Color is copper. Aroma hops. Taste is lighter hops with a bite. Secondary malt and sweetness. Medium carbonation and medium body. This beer seemed to vary on each serving and from a bottle too.

on tap-pours a rich, light tan head. Copper color. Aroma malt, hops, sweet. Taste is quite mild with the hops and malt being about equally present. Less hops than the ESB category usually has, but a nice beer. Mild effervescence and medium body.
